MAFAR-PRDP monitors seaweeds production in Tawi-Tawi

Tawi-Tawi – The Philippine Rural Development Project of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Agrarian Reform conducted the joint monitoring on Seaweeds Production and Marketing Enterprise project at Barangay Balimbing, Panglima Sugala, on March 16, 2022.

The activity aims to determine the status of ongoing subprojects under the I-REAP component headed by Business Development Officer Michael Ian Sastrillo.

During the visit, Amildaton Diam, treasurer of Balimbing Seaweeds Farmers Cooperative, said they were grateful for the assistance they received from the PRDP, as a result of which they were able to develop their Coop and expand their seaweeds farming.

Through this monitoring, the team will be able to find out what are the challenges faced by seaweeds farmers and what interventions can help them to continue the excellent development of the project.
Moreover, the activity is joint monitoring of the Regional Project Coordination Office of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao and the Project Support Office Mindanao.
