43,000 PIECES TILAPIA FINGERLINGS DISTRIBUTION IN MAGUINDANAO

In support of the Fish Stock Enhancement Program of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Agrarian Reform (MAFAR), a total of 43,000 pcs of Tilapia fingerlings were distributed at Freshwater Fish Farm, MSU Compound, DOS, Maguindanao last April 28, 2021.

The identified beneficiaries of the Fisheries Sector are Mr. Omar Salik of Kinebeka, DOS, Maguindanao; Mr. Salim Guimba of Kakar, Cotabato City and Mr. Musib Tan of Datu Saudi Ampatuan.

Chief Aquaculture Research Section spearheaded by Hairodin Arap said, “I am very thankful to the recipient of today’s distribution because it is the manifestation of the strong support of the people on the program of MAFAR on fish stock enhancement in support to Food Security.”

He also emphasizes to the recipient that they must take care of the fingerlings so that they will grow and eventually will help their family on food sustenance and economic upliftment. If possible, they can also share the harvest with their neighbors in easing todays’ pandemic situations.

Moreover, Mr. Musib Tan of Datu Saudi Ampatuan said, “The LGU of Datu Saudi Ampatuan itself is embarking on a program on food security that its constituents to be self-sufficient especially on the source of fish.”
