600-METER FMR TURNED OVER TO THE LGU OF DATU SAUDI AMPATUAN

The burden of the farmers in bringing their products to the market was finally resolved after the turnover of 600-meter concreted Farm to Market Road (FMR) in Barangay Salbo, Datu Saudi Ampatuan, Maguindanao on September 24, 2020.

The FMR connects Sittio Taguan Farm to Barangay Salbo and is amounting to P 9,141,333.34 funded through DARRO-XII under the Italian Project for Mindanao Rural Development or the Italian project. The project aimed to reduce the hauling and transportation cost among farmers that will increase their net income.

The activity was graced by Datu Saudi Municipal Mayor Hon. Edris A. Sindatok, Vice Mayor Hon. Zaiton U. Dimaukom, Assistant to the Minister for Overall Operations Engr. Ismail A. Guiamel who represented MAFAR Minister Dr Mohammad S. Yacob, MAFAR-Maguindanao Provincial Head (PH) Abdulnasser K. Badawi, Marian Cecilia Machan representing the Regional Director of DARRO XII, Marion Y. Abella, National Program Coordinator CPMU IARCDSP Engr. Anuar P. Acop and other leading officials.

Municipal Mayor Sindatok thanked the partner line agencies and the donors of the said project for providing assistance to their town, which addressed the difficulty among the farmers in bringing their agri fishery products to the market.

The mayor also extended his appreciation to all the officials who were part of the development of their municipality. He assured them that the people in their community will benefit from the project until the next generation.

Meanwhile, Engr. Guiamel said that the MAFAR has been doing its efforts to provide more projects and assistance to all the farmers to improve their agricultural livelihood and ensure higher production and income.

Guiamel also announced that the ministry strives hard to have more projects for those deserving beneficiaries to carry out the mandates of the BARMM in bringing the government closer to the communities. The ministry also secures that the assistance will reach the smallest of the farmers who need services the most.

Barangay Chairwoman Hon. Hadiguia D. Dimaukom of Barangay Salbo expressed her gratitude to the officials for the construction of the FMR. She expressed her happiness as their hardship in transporting their products was finally ended. The barangay chairwoman mentioned the burden of the farmers in bringing their products to the market with the very high cost it incurs and their products are also damaged.

The cutting of the ribbon signified that the FMR is ready for public use and it also indicateed the end of difficulty among the farmers. The ribbon cutting was led by Mayor Sindatok, Engr. Guiamel, Engr. Acop, PH Badawi and the other officials.
