MAFAR-TFBM receives Php 10,456,218.75 worth of Fisheries Post-Harvest Equipment from BFAR-X

LANAO DEL SUR-The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Agrarian Reform (MAFAR) through Task Force Bangon Marawi (TFBM) received the Fisheries Post-Harvest Equipment from the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources to distribute to the fisherfolks beneficiaries in Lanao Del Sur.

On October 28, BFAR-X Regional Director Teodoro A. Bacolod, Jr. turned over Php 4,168, 352.75 worth of Project Supplies and Materials for the rehabilitation and improvement of Fishpond, the establishment of Floating Fish Cage and Brush Park, and fabrication of Fish Pot for Tilapia, and Php 6,287,866.00 worth of 500-sets Gill Net, 369-units Spear Fishing Gadgets, 110-sets Fish Pond Materials, 20-units Fish Stall, 19-units (16-Footer) Non-Motorized Banca, 20-units Portable Smoke-Burner, and 4-units Smoke House with a total of Php 10,456,218.75.

In his acceptance message, minister Mohammad S. Yacob, Ph.D., thanked the BFAR-X for the facility that helps increase the livelihood of fisherfolks of Marantao.

“We at the MAFAR are maximizing all possibilities to bring the quality services of the government to our people,” Minister Yacob said.

“We will not refuse, whenever the partner agency from other regions provide such facilities that help empower our communities, especially on Agriculture, Fisheries and Agrarian Reform,” he added.

Hon. Akira Alonto, municipal mayor of Marantao, Lanao Del Sur, witnessed the turnover ceremony, and he assured their commitment to further intensify the support in collaboration with the implementation of projects and programs that enhance the livelihood of farmers and fisherfolks in the said municipality.
