BRAFC joins the 17th Mindanao AFC congress

The Bangsamoro Regional Agricultural and Fishery Council (BRAFC) of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Agrarian Reform has participated in the 17th Mindanao Agricultural and Fishery Council (AFC) congress and areawide participatory performance review and planning workshop.

With the theme “Expanding the Reach of AFCs: Unity in Diversity and Resilience in the Contemporary Times” was held at Butuan Grand Palace Hotel, Butuan City, on October 25-28.

The congress was participated by Mindanao regions, including 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, and the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).

Objectives of the congress shall serve as a venue for the AFCs to discuss relevant agri-fishery issues and concerns common to the cluster regions and come up with the best possible recommendations; update the AFC leaders on relevant agriculture and fishery programs/projects, policies, directives, and other development initiatives and present, acknowledge, and share AFC best practices worthy of emulation.

During the activity, the following are the topics; Mainstreaming Tools, Innovation, and Approaches of the Philippine Rural Development Projects (PRDP) in the Regular System; New DA Directives, Thrusts, and Food Security Plans and Programs and National Urban and Peri-Urban Agriculture Program (NUPAP). The last day centers on the Agency’s Physical and Financial Performance as of September 30, 2022; FY 2023 PCAF Plan and Budget based on NEP and Workshop on the Inputs for the FY 2024 Plan and Budget Proposal.

Domenden, CESO IV; Asst Secretary-designate for Planning and Project Development/Director, Planning and Monitoring Service Ms. Agnes Catherine T. Miranda; Regional Executive Director Engr. Ricardo M. Oñate, Jr.; RAFC CARAGA Chairperson Mr. Christopher H. Lindo and other guests.

In addition, BRAFC Chairperson Dr. Salik B. Panalunsong, together with its executive committee, sectoral representatives, PAFC Chairpersons, and coordinators, participated from BARMM.
