Construction of Abaca Warehouse with Solar Dryer started in Sundig

LANAO DEL SUR | March 12, 2021

The construction of Abaca Warehouse with Solar Dryer under Bangon Marawi Rehabilitation, Reconstruction and Reconciliation Project Fund of 2020 at Barangay Sundig, Butig, Lanao del Sur began as it officially breaks ground last 12th March 2021.

The development project amounting to Php P635,550 is now currently built in the progressing area of Lanao Del Sur. The said project shall provide preserving, storing and processing facilities for the farming activities in the community.

With its commitment to fully deliver the service for Bangsamoro people, Task Force Bangon Marawi, opted to continue what has been started by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Agrarian Reform (MAFAR).

The said event was attended by Minister Mohammad S. Yacob Ph.D, Deputy Minister Ammal D. Solaiman, JD, Provincial Director Atty. Khalid Ansano, Chief Agrarian Reform Rocaina A. Mindalano, Engr. Abduklhaq B, Gayak, and representatives from the Task Force Bangon Marawi Johary Lumna and others.

Minister Mohammad S. Yacob Ph.D urged to continue extending assistance to cooperatives in the community and acquire modern agricultural technology, for this project would be very helpful to farmers in Lanao Del Sur while making their work in the field lighter.

“Our Ministry is committed to support in the completion of this project, our aim is to help increase the income of the farmers by providing them with these Abaca Warehouse and Solar Dryer,” Deputy Solaiman said.

Engr. Gayak cited that there are at least 50 farmers under the cooperative that will benefit from this project. “Our role is to monitor and make sure that everything goes well in the project construction,” he stated.

With this, the project targets to boost abaca fiber production in the Province of Lanao Del Sur due to its great demand in the market as its materials is used for making textile, ropes, insulator and other handicraft items.
