DA-BAR EQUIPS MAFAR, SUCS WITH RESEARCH PROPOSAL PREPARATION

DAVAO CITY- To further enhance the capability and skills of research personnel of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Agrarian Reform together with State, Universities, and Colleges (SUCs) region-wide trained on research proposal preparation and packaging.

On November 20-24, The Department of Agriculture- Bureau of Agricultural Research Central Office facilitated the training of Mr. Glenn D. Dimayuga, Senior Economic Development Specialist, Ms. Keith C. Ramones, Project Development Officer, Ms. Lorebelle Espanola Pidoy, Project Development Officer, and Ms. Crystel Venus F. Fonseca, Project Development Officer.

The training is focused on enhancing the research proposal preparation and technical writing skills of the participants, developing well-formulated research proposal presentation outputs, and exploring more research proposal templates for fund sourcing of MAFAR-RDE personnel and (SUCs) network members.

Director General for Agriculture Services Daud K. Lagasi, Ph.D., warmly greeted the resource person and the participants and said this training is one of the most important training of MAFAR-RDE and SUCs because we will enhance our research proposal with the help of DA-BAR.

“I hope everyone here takes this training seriously since this is for our Bangsamoro Farmers, Fisherfolk, and Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries,” DG Lagasi said.

Director of Research, Development, and Extension Services, Tong A. Abas said, “I am grateful to the DA-BAR for extending their effort in sharing their expertise in Research Proposal Preparation and Packaging to the Bangsamoro Agri-Fisheries Research, Development and Extension Network.

“Since we are researchers, we are gathering here to improve our research proposal to submit to the funding agency since the office’s activity depends on our research,” Director Tong added.

He said I am also thankful to SUCs for attending our activity. SUCs is an essential partner of MAFAR because our collaboration indeed must meet the needs of our people.

During the training proper, the DA-BAR resource person discusses identifying a research topic, project proposal preparation, the statistical procedure for agricultural research, results, discussion, conclusion, recommendation, and partial budget analysis.

BARMMIAFRC Center Manager Abdul Nasseef S. Ulong said through this training, we have gathered our SUCs from the five regions of BARMM who are experienced in developing research.

“We hope that our BAFRDEN will formulate many research proposals for next year. Also, the MAFAR- RDE is always ready to assist and facilitate our network members,” he stressed.

MAFAR has been aiming to reach the quality standard needed to provide its workforce with the capability and skills to create innovative and transformational platforms, projects, and programs that will unquestionably enhance agronomic practices, livestock development, fisheries management strategies, and numerous agri-fisheries related research and actions.
