FAO AND MAFAR DISTRIBUTES STARTER KITS TO FARMER COOPERATIVES IN DATU ODIN SINSUAT, MAGUINDANAO

The project supports Agriculture and Agribusiness Enterprises in Mindanao for Sustainable Development (GCP/PHI/069/ROK) of FAO in partnership with MAFAR distributed Paravet starter kits to the three (3) selected cooperatives at D.O.S. Municipal Hall Complex on May 24, 2021.

Twelve (12) sets of paravet Kits and 143.5 kgs of Tropical Forage Grass Seeds were hand-over to the 3 cooperatives, namely; Kinebeka Mugsug Agriculture Cooperative, Bugawas Farmers Producers Cooperative, and Golden Harvest Multi-purpose Cooperative, Inc., all from the Municipality of Datu Odin Sinsuat.

The starter kits will increase the productivity of agriculture livelihood, effective integration of small farmers into agriculture value chains, and building resilient agriculture livelihood and agri-based enterprises, according to Mr. Ismael Trasmonte, Jr., FAO Project Team Leader.

Moreover, MPDC Engr. Raymond Russam expressed his gratitude to MAFAR and FAO for including D.O.S. municipality as the recipient of the project. He also reiterated to the beneficiaries to utilize carefully the assistance provided.

Mr. Pendatun Patarasa, Asst. to the Minister for Special Concerns, delivers a message of support on behalf of MAFAR Minister Dr. Mohammad S. Yacob in grateful recognition of the FAO continuing support to the Bangsamoro Government; he reiterated the statement of BARMM Chief Minister Ahod B. Ebrahim “That the overall goal of this government is to uplift the lives of the Bangsamoro and to establish the foundation for self-governance through the principle of moral governance.”
