FIRST EVER BARMM FSN ROADMAP IS SET FOR LAUNCHING

All is set for today’s historic ‘Launching of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) Food Security and Nutrition (BARMM) Roadmap at the Shariff Kabunsuan Cultural Complex (SKCC) of the Bangsamoro Government Center (BGC), Cotabato City.

With its more than a year long development, the FSN roadmap is finally complete and ready for turnover to the BARMM government.

The document shall be handed over by Minister Mohammad S. Yacob of the MAFAR and Director General Mohajirin T. Ali of the Bangsamoro Planning and Development Authority (BPDA) to BARMM Chief Minister Ahod Balawag Ebrahim, Al-Hadj.

Aside from the BARMM ministers and members of the parliament, the activity shall also be virtually and physically participated by the officials from the Philippine government that includes Cabinet Secretary Karlo Alexei B. Nograles and from the international development partners including Mr. Gustavo Gonzalez, United Nations Resident Coordinator.

The FSN roadmap features both the gaps and issues and strategies and actions that need to be considered and carried out, respectively to address the high incidence of poverty in the Bangsamoro Region.

The document also presents the 10-year path from the setting up of BARMM food security and nutrition institutions, convergence, policies and legislations from 2020 to 2022 to increasing investment and partnership in 2025 up to the establishment of sustainable food system in 2030 and beyond.

The FSN roadmap is the product of the strong partnership between the MAFAR, BPDA, UN-WFP, UN-FAO, other ministries of the BARMM and the local government units.
