With theme ‘Grow local. Buy Local. Eat local.’, the two-day activity is led by Minister Dr Mohammad S. Yacob and is facilitated by the ministry’s rice sector led by Tong A. Abas with assistance from the other key officials from different sectors as manifestation of unity and ‘One MAFARmilia’.
Highlights of the program include the plenary sessions featuring hybrid rice technology, rice crop manager, NextGen project, Rice Resiliency Program, NFA procurement program, and PSA updates.
Two units of Pump Irrigation System from Open Source (PISOS) were already distributed to verified rice farmers’ organizations.
The activity also showcases the talents and skills of the Bangsamoro through their participation to different contests such as MAFARGaling, PhotoPagalingan, and Lutong Bangsamoro.
Palay seeds shall also be distributed to the farmers from different communities in the region.
Awarding ceremony will conclude the program tomorrow, November 27, 2020.
