JICA turns over six units of Motorcycle to MAFAR

COTABATO CITY- The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Agrarian Reform, on Wednesday, April 13, received six units of motorcycles (XRM 125) from the Japan International Cooperation Agency held at MAFAR Covered Court, BGC.

The said six Motorcycle units were allocated for the OIC MAFAR Municipal Officer and Agriculture Technologist from the Municipality of Datu Odin Sinsuat, Guindulungan, and Datu Hoffer in support of the Rice-Base Technology Transfer Program for Bangsamoro under the Batch 2 project.

CPDP-JICA Chief Advisor Mr. Hirofumi Hoshi said the primary purpose of the motorcycle is to be used by the MMO and ATs as extension workers in monitoring those participating farmers and extend technical assistance in the promotion of the livelihood improvement among agri-farmer clientele.

Mr. Hoshi also requests the recipient to provide the necessary cost of operation and maintenance to the motorcycle as the best equipment for securing better services to farmers.

Minister Mohammad S. Yacob, Ph.D., extends his appreciation to JICA for the constant partnership in the ministry in helping farmers and fisherfolks sustain their productivity.

“As the minister, it is a great opportunity to continue the program from previously DAF in expanding the living condition of our Bangsamoro beneficiaries,” said Minister Yacob.

He said we in the ministry are trying to look forward to the increasing of rice productivity through our three tracts, the Irrigated, Rainfed, and Upland area.

 “Lastly, let me remind you that you are trusted and accountable in this intervention because this will be your tool to enhance your services towards Bangsamoro beneficiaries,” he added.

Furthermore, other key officials were also in attendance during the said activity, including Bangsamoro Director-General for Agriculture services Dr. Daud K. Lagasi, MAFAR Chief of Operation Tong A. Abas, MAFAR-Maguindanao Provincial Director Dr. Ronjamin Maulana, and Chief of Operation Saudi Mangindra and other officials from JICA.
