MAFAR ACTIVELY PARTICIPATES IN THE BARMM CABINET’S STRATEGIC PLANNING

The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Agrarian Reform (MAFAR) actively participated in the Strategic Planning Workshop of the Cabinet that took place in Davao City on March 2-6, 2020. The activity was led by the Office of the Chief Minister in close collaboration with the Bangsamoro Development and Planning Authority (BPDA).

Led by Hon. Chief Minister Hon. Ahod Balawag Ebrahim, the activity was participated by the BARMM ministers, with their planning, budget and technical officers.

“We are here for the welfare of the Bangsamoro, nothing else”, said Chief Ibrahim as he challenged the participants in his opening message.

BPDA Director General Engr. Mohajiren Ali presented the Bangsamoro Region’s vision of “The Bangsamoro that is united, enlightened, self-governing, peaceful, just, morally upright, and progressive.” Ali added that the region’s mission is “Guided by moral governance and in pursuit of genuine and meaningful autonomy, the Bangsamoro Government ensures the necessary conditions for enduring peace and sustained socio-economic development suitable to the systems of life, needs, and aspirations of its peoples by providing services to communities, ensuring multi-stakeholder participation, and facilitating appropriate partnerships.”

Accordingly, the overall goal of the BARMM is the upliftment of the lives of the Bangsamoro and establishing the foundation for self-governance through moral governance.

The ministries shared their vision, mission and priority programs, activities, projects and services (PAPS) aimed at improving the lives of the Bangsamoro people. They gave emphasis on the alignment of their PAPS to the 12-point agenda of the Bangsamoro Government.

Workshops were conducted on possible alliance and partnerships among the ministries and convergence with other agencies with emphasis on “ramdam ng tao” (felt by the people) initiatives, establishment and intensification of institutions and and strategic communications.

Leading the team from MAFAR, Minister Mohammad S. Yacob, prioritized the attainment of a food-secure Bangsamoro taking into consideration the improvement of ‘value chain’ in the agriculture and fishery sectors.

With Minister Yacob were Planning Officers Datu Hamsur J. Zaid and Hairodin T. Arap, Budget Officer Arcilludin Utatalum, Jr., and Minister’s Assistant Walid Y. Iskak.
