MAFAR and BRAFC participates in the 16th Mindanao AFC Congress

The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Agrarian Reform (MAFAR) and the Bangsamoro Regional Agricultural and Fishery Council (BRAFC), headed by Chairperson Dr. Salik Panalunsong, participate in the 16th Mindanao AFC Council.

On November 10, the activity was done via zoom, participated by key officials and partners in the private sector around regions in Mindanao at MAFAR Conference Hall, BGC, Cotabato City.

Dr. Panalunsong said the main objective of the congress is to strengthen the relationship of the farmers, fisherfolks, and the AFC officials to address the significant problems that arise in the country.

“As chairman of the BRAFC, we want to assure that we will have enough food supply in our Region; I believe if we have this food sustainability in our Region, we will win against poverty,” Panalunsong added.

He also emphasized that the efforts of the BRAFC in joining the National event indicated more collaboration towards pursuing additional programs for the Bangsamoro farmers and fisherfolks.

Through Congress, the BRAFC-BARMM has passed 18 resolutions and submitted them in the National.

The 16th Mindanao AFC Congress with the theme “Strengthened AFC Partnerships: A pathway in pursuing sustainable, progressive, and resilient Mindanao Agriculture and Fisheries development, concludes with the presentation of the following such as Mandanas Ruling-Implications to Agriculture, Farm and Fisheries Clustering and Consolidation, Presentation of Posthumous Award and the Agriculture Financing Plan.
