MAFAR, ATI holds pre-broadcast meeting, consultation on SOA

COTABATO CITY- The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Agrarian Reform, and the Agricultural Training Institute have conducted Pre- Broadcast meeting and consultations on the issues concerning the upcoming School-On-the-Air on Smart Rice Agriculture for Maguindanao Province.

On Wednesday, July 6, the meeting was held at MAFAR-Maguindanao Conference Hall, BGC.

John Lord Auman from ATI-12 gave an overview of the objectives of the said meeting, and he also shared a situational story that can provide farmers with the courage to continue their hard work.

He highlighted the importance of Agriculture and how social media interact with us nowadays. However, the SOA is a means of disseminating information and teaching farmers effectively that covers wide participants.

Around 2,150 Rice Farmers from the twenty-one Municipalities of Maguindanao province, including Datu Odin Sinsuat, Shariff Aguak, Datu Saudi Ampatuan, Shariff Saydona Mustapha, Mamasapano, Rajah Buayan, Datu Abdullah Sangki, Ampatuan, Sultan sa Barongis, Datu Paglas, Pandag, Pagalungan, Montawal, Sultan Mastura, Upi, Datu Unsay, Guindulungan, Talayan, GSKP, Northern Kabuntalan, and Buldon will benefit and serve as farmer-participants in the upcoming SOA.

Chief Agriculturist Tong A. Abas representing MAFAR Minister Mohammad S. Yacob, Ph.D. expressed his full support to all the activities concerned with uplifting the lives of Bangsamoro farmers; he thanked all the partners in promoting the capacity building of every farmer.

Provincial Director Dir. Ronjamin M. Maulana encourages the incoming beneficiaries of the training to deliver their following task by participating in the activity and implementing the knowledge they will learn from the training.

He said, “if everyone works together, then we can solve the problem.”

ATI-12 Center Director Abdul I. Daya-an said they fully support the activity.

In attendance in the activity were Chief ICTS Engr. Musrifa M. Mago, Senior Agriculturist Engr. Muhaimin Ali, Supervising Agriculturist Samraida Undong, MMOs, and other MAFAR staff.
