MAFAR BRINGS TO MANILA AGRI-FISHERY PRODUCTS FROM THE BARMM THRU MinDA TIENDA
Farmers, fisherfolk, and agripreneurs in the whole BARMM are delighted as their fresh and processed agri-fishery products have reached Manila and shall be promoted and sold through the MAFAR in the MinDA TIENDA that will be held on October 23-25, 2020 at the Kartilya ng Katipunan Park (beside the City Hall), Ermita Manila.
The team from the ministry, led by the Agribusiness and Marketing Division (AMAD), travelled to Manila ang brought boxes containing agri-fishery products all the way from the five provinces of the Bangsamoro Region.
Minister Dr Mohammad S. Yacob said the ministry is thankful to the Mindanao Development Authority (MinDA) chaired by Dr Emmanuel F. Piñol, for the significant initiative for it paved the way for the direct promotion and marketing of the Bangsamoro agri-fishery products to the capital of the Philippines.
The three-day activity, according to Piñol, aims to present to Metro Manila buyers and consumers the different commodities produced in abundance in Mindanao including those from the BARMM from the islands to the mainlands.
In the virtual conference via ZOOM done earlier, BARMM Chief Minister Ahod B. Ebrahim, Al-Hadj expressed support for the activity as a way of promoting Mindanao products and establishing direct markets for the region’s farmers and fisherfolk.
During the event, that is basically a joint project of the MinDA and the City Government of Manila to support the Mindanao farmers and fishermen during the pandemic, these products and handicrafts from the BARMM shall be showcased.
