MAFAR CONDUCTS ORIENTATION ON THE FORMATION OF YOUTH INITIATIVES FOR AQUATIC CONSERVATION

The Fisheries Resource Management Division (FRMD) under the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Agrarian Reform, successfully conducted the Orientation on the Formation of Youth Initiatives for Aquatic Conservation and Protection and Coastal Clean-Up at Barangay Magsaysay, Parang, Maguindanao Del Norte.

Twenty (20) selected students of Ruth Manion Babao Memorial National High School participated in the said activities, which aim to engage and equip them in environmental protection and conservation.

During the activity, students were taught about the critical marine habitat of the marine ecosystem, its importance, prohibitions, the threats it faces today, and how youth can contribute to combatting these environmental issues.

Furthermore, as part of the activities of the youth initiative, a coastal clean-up was conducted, which focuses on removing plastic materials on the beachfront of the coastal community.

The activities serve as the start of the collaboration between the ministry and the school in showcasing the full potential of the Bangsamoro student-youth in achieving an eco-friendly community.
