MAFAR CONDUCTS TWO-DAY PLANNING AND BUDGETING WORKSHOP IN DAVAO CITY

In an effort to strengthen the core operations of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Agrarian Reform, a two-day Planning and Budgeting Workshop was conducted at the Acacia Hotel in Davao City from October 26 to 27, 2023.

Director II Julie O. Maliga, RN, MPASR of the Administrative and Finance Management Services, spearheaded the workshop, ensuring the effective and productive functioning of the ministry’s Planning and Budget Services for future endeavors.

The activity underlines the importance of reinforcing the capabilities of the Regional and Provincial offices of MAFAR in shaping the future of the office that participated by 36 employees.

This capacitates MAFAR employees by empowering them with the skills necessary to enhance their service and positively impact the agricultural, fisheries, and agrarian reform sectors and their communities.

Minister Mohammad S. Yacob, Ph.D., congratulated the participants for their direct engagement with the Ministry of Budget and Finance Management.

“In this workshop, I can clearly see your enthusiasm in actively listening to our resource persons, which indicates your strong desire to ensure the implementation of your proposals and to provide the beneficiaries with what they truly require.”

He also expressed hope that this workshop would serve as an inspiration for participants to implement the initiatives consistently.

During the workshop, Atty. Rahma D. Sanglitan, CPA, Director III of the Bangsamoro Budget Office-MFBM, shared her expertise in the Government Budgeting System. This crucial element plays a vital role in overall government development.

Meanwhile, Director II Julie O. Maliga encouraged the participants to strive for continuous improvement in their efforts to provide the beneficiaries with what they rightfully deserve.

“We can enhance our project proposals to serve our constituents better, “she added.

The workshop comprises several sessions, including discussions on Overall Development Goals, updates in the MAFAR BDIP, Strategic Performance Measurement, Budget Proposal Templates, Cost-Benefit Analysis, and the integration of costing and budgeting with strategy and performance management.

Additionally, a PPMP workshop allowed participants to present their PPMPs.
