MAFAR DELIVERS INPUTS FOR DEMO FARM IN PAGALUNGAN

PAGALUNGAN, MAGUINDANAO | February 23, 2021

The required inputs to be used in the 100-hectare Model Farm on Rice-Based Farming System established on January 27, this year at Barangay Kilangan , Pagalungan, Maguindanao were delivered on Tuesday, February 23, 2021.

According to Tong Abas, MAFAR’s chief agriculturist and rice banner program coordinator , the farm inputs received by the farmer-cooperators include the following items: 200 bags at 50 kgs/bag of urea; 100 bottles for each of foliar fertilizer and insecticides; 400 packs at 10 grams/pack of growth enhancer and 100 sachets at 10 grams/sachet of rodenticides. The total amount of farm inputs including the 100 bags of NSIC Rc 222 certified seeds which were delivered before the planting festival is P1.03M. This is the first model farm established in the region and funded through the block grant, Abas said.

In another development, sixty-six bags of NSIC Rc 222 certified seeds were also distributed on Tuesday to twenty-five farmers in barangay Kapinpilan, Ampatuan, Maguindanao. The distribution is part of the Ahon Lahat, Pagkain Sapat (ALPAS) project under the DA’s Plant, Plant, Plant Program.
