MAFAR ENHANCES DATA GATHERING SKILLS FOR AGRI-FISHERY OFFICERS IN SULU PROVINCE

SULU – The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Agrarian Reform (MAFAR) conducted another two-day Training on Farmers and Fisherfolks Profiling and Area Measurement for Agri-Fishery Officers in the Province of Sulu on October 24-25, 2023.

The activity aims to further equip MAFAR personnel with the essential skills and knowledge to update the Registry System for Basic Sectors in Agriculture (RSBSA).

Chief Agriculturist of MAFAR-Sulu, Jun M. Ammak, welcomes the participants, urging them to recognize its importance in ensuring accurate and efficient data acquisition from the agricultural and fishery sectors.

In his message, Marbel J. Hayudini, Supervising Agriculturist, emphasized the significance of the training in enhancing the capabilities of MAFAR personnel responsible for collecting and managing data from farmers and fisherfolks.

“Accurate data collection is vital for informed decision-making and effective policy implementation in agriculture and fisheries,” Ammak added.

The training sessions covered a wide range of topics, including the guidelines of RSBSA Enrolment Forms, Geo-referencing, and Operational Guidelines of GPS Tracker, which was discussed by MAFAR RSBSA Focal Person Binbadz B. Tending, alongside RSBSA Geo-referencing Focal Person Salahudin L. Ali.

This knowledge is pivotal in maintaining an updated and comprehensive RSBSA, a fundamental resource for government agencies and stakeholders in the agricultural and fishery sectors.
