MAFAR ESTABLISHES 50-HA RICE MODEL FARM IN BULDON, MAGUINDANAO
The farmers in Barangay Dinganen, Buldon Maguindanao are now at ease as they received bags of rice seeds and fertilizers from MAFAR today (May 25, 2020) for the establishment of 50-hectare rice model farm.
Under the ministry’s rice program sector, headed by Focal Person Tong A. Abas, the farm inputs delivered and distributed to the farmer-members of the irrigators’ association were 50 bags Registered Rice Seeds, 100 bags urea, and 150 bags complete fertilizers.
These farm inputs shall be used on the vast farmlands that are now under land preparation and shall be ready for planting in just few days.
The set of assistance was funded under the 2019 Rice Program from the Department of Agriculture with the stewardhship of Sectetary Dr William D. Dar.
The activity conforms with Minister Dr Mohammad S. Yacob’s directive to continue supporting the farmers with their farming needs especially now that they are affected by the difficulties caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
