MAFAR-Halal program expands production of Free Range Native Chicken in BARMM Region

MAGUINDANAO- A total of 960 heads of Free Range Native Chicken has been distributed to the beneficiaries by the Halal Program and Development of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Agrarian Reform.

The banner program headed by Chief Engr. Saidona A. Lawan conducted a series of distributions in the different towns in Maguindanao Province from January 13-20, 2022.

The distribution was also the actual Inspection of the project through the inspectorate team headed by Engr. Johnson Paglala.

Substantially the Municipality of Datu Odin Sinsuat received 480 heads of chicken, Guindulungan 80, Datu Saudi Ampatuan 160, Mamasapano 160, and Shariff Saydona Mustapha with 80 heads.

Engr. Lawan said that each beneficiary received 80 heads of chicken amounting to 500 Php. each funded through 2021 GAAB Fund under the Free Range native chicken for Halal Compliant Production project.

The program aims to expand the production of Native Chicken and increase the livelihood among farmers as additional sources of their income.

Lawan also said that the project would be closely monitored to ensure its benefits to the beneficiaries. He added that other target towns would also receive the same program to which are Sultan Kudarat, Pagalungan, Datu Montawal, Buluan, and Aleosan.
