MAFAR INKS MOA WITH CBCS FOR INTENSIFIED DELIVERY OF SERVICES TO THE GRASSROOTS

The MAFAR and the Consortium of Bangsamoro Civil Society, Inc. (CBCS) signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) this day (October 22, 2020 held at the MAFAR Conference Hall, Bangsamoro Government Center (BGC), Cotabato City.

The signing happened between Minister Dr. Mohammad S. Yacob and CBCS Chairperson Guiamel M. Alim. The activity aimed at strengthening the collaboration for more effective delivery of services to the farmers and fisherfolk by intensifying the implementation and monitoring of MAFAR activities and programs.

Chairperson Alim expressed his gratefulness for the partnership and for having the ministry, led by Minister Yacob, whom he has known as a partner in the continuing efforts of helping the people. “It is not the first time that we will work together; I feel so happy, that we are organically joined together into a journey of collaborate for more quality services for the Bangsamoro” Alim said.

Meanwhile, Minister Yacob voiced his happiness for the realization of MOA signing. He said that the signing shall be the beginning of more inclusive services that will be offered to the Bangsamoro farmers.

The MAFAR Chief also pointed out that the ministry these days does not only recognize the combatants, but all qualified Bangsamoro for inclusion in the government service. “The ministry is open to all the requests coming from the farmers, for we treat the beneficiaries equally as we want to make the government and its services closer to the communities” said Minister Yacob.

The minister said that the MAFAR strives hard to strengthen its planning, evaluation, monitoring and research sectors to improve the delivery of services to the grassroots. He further emphasized the main objective of the MAFAR, with his leadership that is to make the farmers and fisherfolk more productive, profitable, progressive and proud.

The ceremonial signing between Minister Yacob and Chairperson Alim signified the official bond between the two parties for more meaningful implementation and evaluation of needed services and assistance. The MOA shall remain effective for two years as the program ends in October 2022.

Other key officials who witnessed the signing were Assistant to the Minister for Operations Engr. Ismail A. Guiamel, Chief of Staff Arphia T. Ebus, Office of MP Yacob Chief of Staff Atty. Abbyr Nul, Planning Chief Amador Tandalong, MAFAR Corn and Cassava Focal Person Akmad A. Abdullah, ICTS Chief Salembai A. Abdullah, CBCS Project Manager Alimudin Mala and other staffs from the MAFAR and CBCS.
