MAFAR intensified campaign on RSBSA, georeferencing in Maguindanao

The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Agrarian Reform intensified its campaign on the Registry System on Basic Sectors in Agriculture (RSBSA) and georeferencing by conducting an information caravan held in Datu Hoffer, Maguindanao.

On November 29, the information caravan aims to inform the public about georeferencing and official registration of farmers, farmworkers, and fisherfolks with the RSBSA within the Bangsamoro Region.

RSBSA and georeferencing are a program of the Department of Agriculture (DA) —are two basic requirements for farmers and fisherfolks to use agricultural equipment, machinery, irrigation services, infrastructure, and other services.

Georeferencing is the process of capturing a digital image. Meanwhile, the RSBSA is an electronic compilation of basic information on farmers or fisherfolks.

MAFAR Director-General for Agriculture Services Daud Lagasi said, “RSBSA and georeferencing are for farmers to avail of MAFAR interventions; endorsement from municipal and provincial officers is needed to ensure that all transactions are properly delivered to their respective offices. “

Pendatun Patarasa, MAFAR director-general for Fisheries, said, “through this digital enrollment, farmers and fisherfolks will have their own data with the agency and the farmers themselves. ”

The municipal government of Datu Hoffer, through its Municipal Administrator, Norodin Mamaluba, has warmly welcomed MAFAR’s information drive programs, believing that their own farmers will benefit from it.

“Our Mayor told me that any help from MAFAR is welcome here at Datu Hoffer, especially when the welfare of farmers and fisherfolk is involved,” Mamaluba said.
