MAFAR JOINED THE WEEK-LONG CELEBRATION OF THE BANGSAMORO FOUNDATION ANNIVERSARY

Cotabato City- Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Agrarian Reform (MAFAR) celebrated the opening program of week-long founding anniversary of Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao last January 18, 2021.
According to MAFAR Minister Dr. Mohammad Yacob, MAFAR region- wide offices conducted simultaneous programs in celebration of the anniversary. The Agriculture and Fisheries sector booth showcased the local products of farmers and fisherfolks that aims to provide help in their livelihood. The Agrarian Reform sector booth opened for legal services.
The well-knowned MAFARLENGKE opened during the said celebration with diverse product that are locally available from the Bangsamoro land. Draw-lots happened during the afternoon and ten lucky winners were given agri-fisheries products as prizes.
Moreover, the Agriculture and Fisheries Sector distributed Hybrid Palay seeds, Certified Palay seeds, machineries, vegetable seeds and cacao seedlings, one combined harvester and Tilapia Fingerlings and turn over ceremony of one unit shredder to the beneficiaries throughout the celebration. The Agrarian Reform sector launched HARis and HARissa Mascot on the third day of the event.
The Bangsamoro people participated in three different competitions held during the last day of the celebration. There was an Adlay Cooking Contest, Bangsamoro Hymn Group Singing Competition and “Pinaka-“ Contest for both agriculture and fisheries sectors.
Awards were also given to the best-Selling product, the best packaging product, and the early bird among MAFARLENGKE exhibitors. Thirty-one (31) exhibitors were awarded certificates of appreciation during the week- long celebration. Lastly, the Grand draw was done during the culminating activity with prizes that include 25kg of rice and agri-fishery products.
Over-all, the week-long celebration can be called a success as all participants and visitors enjoyed the different exhibits and activities conducted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Agrarian Reform.
