MAFAR joins the Celebration of Shariff Kabunsuan Festival

The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Agrarian Reform joins the celebration of the Shariff Kabunsuan Festival held at Alnor Mall, Cotabato City, on December 13, 2021.

MAFAR participates through the Agribusiness Marketing Assistance Division (AMAD) headed by Chief Dr. Tong Pinguiaman.

AMAD displayed different products from the Island provinces, including Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi and mainland Lanao del Sur, and Maguindanao.

Director II for Admin and Finance Services Julie O. Maliga, RN, MPASR, on behalf of Minister Mohammad S. Yacob, Ph.D, expressed her full support in the said activity by joining the opening program on Monday.

The week-long celebration of the Shariff Kabunsuan festival was spearheaded by the Ministry of Trade, Investment and Tourism with Minister Abuamri A. Taddik, which was participated by the region’s different ministries and partner line agencies.

Highlights in the celebration are to showcase the culture and region of Bangsamoro with the products being produced from the different provinces in the area.

The Shariff Kabunsuan Festival is celebrated every December from 15-19, with this year’s theme, “Reliving the past for an empowered Bangsamoro.” It aims to strengthen the collaboration among ministries and encourage sustainable economic industry in the region amidst the pandemic situation.

Furthermore, a series of activities such as Tourism and Trade Fair Exhibit, Guinakit, Kandulang, Fashion Show and Habing Bangsamoro will be showcased in the celebration of the Shariff Kabunsuan.
