MAFAR orients employees on an awareness campaign to end VAW

The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Agrarian Reform joins the observance of the 18-day Campaign to end Violence Against Women (VAW) with the theme “VAW-Free Community Starts with Me” on December 2, 2021, at MAFAR Covered, Court, BGC, Cotabato City.

The ministry conducted Orientation on Awareness Campaign to End VAW and spearheaded by the Gender and Development (GAD) focal person Diana Manalasal and said the activity aims to promote awareness on the forms of violence in experience by women.

The observance of the activity is by the Proclamation 1172 s. 2006, the 18-day Campaign to End Violence Against Women and observed annually from November 25 to December 12 to raise awareness on the protection of women’s rights against violence and all other forms of discrimination.

Around 70 employees from the ministry attended and participated in the activity.

During the training topics discussed were Status of Women in BARMM, Unpacking GBV, Local Protection Mechanism, Multi-Sectoral Approach to GBV, and was explained by the Resource Person Jannette Roxas, Deputy Project Manager of Zuellig Family Foundation.
