MAFAR PRESENTS ITS BUDGET PROPOSAL FOR FY 2021 BEFORE MFBM

The MAFAR kicked off today, August 24, 2020, the presentation of budget proposal at the Technical Budget Hearing for FY 2021 held at the Bajau Hall of the Bangsamoro Government Center, Cotabato City.

The activity is conducted by the MFBM Executive Review Committee until September 9, 2020 and it aims to measure the level of performance, utilization rates, absorptive capacity, and viability of the plans and budget of all the ministries and agencies in the BARMM.

Minister Dr Mohammad S. Yacob led the team from the ministry and presented the comprehensive funding proposal for FY 2021 from Personal Services (PS), Maintenance and Other Operating Expenses (MOOE), Capital Outlay (CO), to Support to Programs, Projects and Activities under Administration, Research, and Operations.

The ministry has proposed for a total budget of Php2.62Billion for the next year.

According to Minister Yacob, the amount shall fuel the implementations and delivery of services that are basically aimed at making the farmers and fishers more productive, profitable, and prouder.

Minister Yacob also said that achieving this will pave the way for the gradual improvement of the agri-fishery sector for the attainment of food self-sufficiency.

Atty. Ubaida C. Pacasem, CPA, MFBM Deputy Minister, stressed that today marks the first day of the technical budget hearing for 2021.

“The Interim Chief Minister Ahod B. Ebrahim formed a technical working group with former MFBM Minister Architect Eduard Guerra and BARMM Executive Secretary Abdulraof Macacua”, Deputy Minister Pacasem stated.

The TWG is also membered by Atty. Sittie Mariam I. Balahim, CPA, Atty. Rahma D. Sanglitan, CPA, Atty. Rasul M. Salik, CPA, Fatima Mending-Abas, CPA, and Ridha Ebrahim.

The team from the MAFAR also included Ammal D. Solaiman, Deputy Minister, Sittie AnidaTomawis-Limbona, CPA, Director for Admin and Finance, Julie O.
