MAFAR shares entrepreneurship, leadership training to farmers in SGA

KABACAN, North Cotabato- A total of 30 members of cooperatives in the Special Geographical Area has undergone training on Small Farmers and Fisherfolks (Group Training) on Organizational Management and Leadership Training cum Marketing Entrepreneurship and Agroenterprises to successful farmer and fisherfolk cooperatives and Association.

On November 24-25, the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Agrarian Reform conducted the two-day training at 8th Avenue.

The training is part of the mandates of the Bangsamoro government towards increasing the livelihood of every Bangsamoro farmer and fisherfolks.

Spearheaded by Assistant to the Provincial Director for SGA and Cotabato City Disumimba D. Rasheed thru the Agribusiness Marketing Assistance Division of the MAFAR-Regional office headed by Chief Dr. Tong Pinguiaman.

According to APD Disumimba, the activity aimed to train the farmers and fishers to improve their skills in engaging business as incoming beneficiaries of the MAFARLENDS.

We want to impart the knowledge and skills that will help you grow and formulate concrete plans for the benefit of your loans and your cooperatives as a whole, and this is your chance to build steps in improving your living condition, Disumimba added.

The training follows the discussion of topics; Introduction of Entrepreneurship and Entrepreneurial Management, Basic Bookkeeping for Small Business, Understanding and Appreciating Organizational, Understanding and Appreciating Management, Organizational Management needs and its Feature and Understanding and Appreciating Leadership and Management. These topics were explained by MAFAR Maguindanao Supervising Agriculturist Sharmaine Baraguir and AMAD Chief Dr. Pinguiaman.

During the second day, the participant visitated the University of Southern Mindanao (USM) in the College of Agriculture to see the different agri-forest located in the university.

Maguindanao Provincial Director Dr. Ronjamin Maulana said the foremost objective of the ministry is mainly for the farmers and fisherfolk, and this training will be beneficial for all of you.

Aside from production, we hope that after this training, you will gain ideas on how you will handle your produced products and get skilled in marketing strategies, said PD Maulana.
