MAFAR vows to help BARMM government end malnutrition

The BARMM’s Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Agrarian Reform (MAFAR) has vowed to support regional efforts to address involuntary cases of malnutrition within the Bangsamoro communities.

In his message during Regional Planning of Action for Nutrition 2020-2022 on Friday (Feb. 26, 2021), MAFAR Minister Mohammad S. Yacob Ph, D said the regional office is committed to back up the Regional Nutrition Committee (RNC)’s programs to push for more harmonize and systematic approach that will effectively resolve the high case of malnutrition in the Bangsamoro region.

Yacob cited the MAFAR’s contribution to address regional-wide issues on malnutrition.

” As Minister of the MAFAR, I am excited to see and fully support the operative implementation of this Regional Plan of Action for Nutrition in a more harmonize and systematic approach so that our Bangsamoro children and our future leader will become “Maging Malusog, Matalino at Matatag ang Batang Moro.”

The Regional Planning of Action for Nutrition flagship is dubbed: “Sa RPAN, Maging Malusog, Matalino, At Matangkad ang batang moro.”

The MAFAR targets to promote programs and plans for nutrition-sensitive food production within the region.

In collaboration with its partner agencies and other local government units (LGUs), the MAFAR targets to ensure that its flagship programs such as BINHI, ISDA and LUPA, will also consist nutrition-sensitive lens.

Further, the MAFAR vowed to continue pushing pro-active measures to help farmers and fisherfolks sustain their agricultural products by providing agri-fishery inputs and engaging them into technical capacity building.
