Malibacao Agriculture Cooperative enhances business skills through CapDev, BCP

MAGUINDANAO – To enhance support to the coffee business enterprise, the Malibacao Agriculture Cooperative received a Training Workshop on Capacity Development and Business Continuity Planning held at Barangay Malibacao, South Upi.

On March 29-31, the Regional Project Coordination Office BARMM, through Investment for Rural Enterprise for Agri-fishery Productivity (I-REAP) component, conducted the activity to address the needs of the Proponent Groups.

In his opening message, Enterprise Development and Marketing Specialist (EDMS) Nasrulah Dilangalen shared the importance of CapDev and business continuity planning in an organization.

“This Capacity Development will give us a set of directions on how we’ll attain the goals of your cooperative,” Dilangalen said.

During the activity, the participants undergo a Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats (SWOT) analysis to determine their needs to strengthen in their coop and sustain its success. The SWOT analysis results will be their guide to formulating their 3-5 years Capacity Development Plan.

The participants also had a workshop on developing their business continuity plans. These plans are designed to help them prepare for and respond to unexpected events such as natural disasters, market fluctuations, or supply chain disruptions.

By identifying potential risks and developing contingency plans, farmers can better protect their livelihoods and ensure their businesses continue operating despite challenging circumstances.

In conclusion, the result of the CapDev and BCP will be important steps in developing the Coop Business Plan.
