The FishCORAL of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Agrarian Reform conducted monitoring and orientation on duck raising project at four barangays of Balabagan, Lanao del Sur namely: [1] Matampay, [2] Macao, [3] Budas, and [4] Barorao on March 22-23, 2021.

The activity focused on proper ways of raising ducks for egg production through informal lectures to the beneficiaries.

Household beneficiaries are now expected to produce duck eggs in their respective barangays and are also encouraged to produce other products such as balut and salted egg which are also in demand in the area.

Duck raising project is supported by FishCORAL MAFAR to the identified household beneficiaries in four target barangays of Balabagan, Lanao del Sur. These areas are not suitable for aquaculture activities; thus, agricultural-enterprise was given to them.

Meanwhile, the activities were facilitated by the Livelihood Officer, Livelihood Coordinator of Illana Bay, Bay Coordinator of Illana Bay, together with the Municipal Agricultural Officer of Balabagan, Lanao del Sur.
