PSO Mindanao, MAFAR-PRDP meets to discuss the progress of PRDP projects in BARMM

The Project Support Office Mindanao led by Deputy Project Director Noel T. Provido met with the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Agrarian Reform-Philippine Rural Development Project (MAFAR-PRDP) to discuss the progress of PRDP projects in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.

On May 5, PSO Mindanao team headed by DPD Noel T. Provido, MAFAR-PRDP Project Director Mohammad S. Yacob, Ph.D., Deputy Project Director Ammal D. Solaiman, JD and MAFAR-PRDP team discussed the current status of PRDP proposed subprojects in the different provinces of BARMM.

During the meeting DPD Provido shared the recent “Listening Tour” they have conducted with the RPCO-BARMM team in the two Proponent Groups in Maguindanao Province to directly hear the challenges and assistant they need to fasten the approval their proposed subprojects.

After hearing some challenges from Malibacao Agriculture Cooperative in South Upi and Tabang Linek Agriculture Cooperative in Datu Odin Sinsuat, the team agreed to conduct parallel reviews on their documents and provide further assistance to fast-track the processing of remaining documents.

The MAFAR-PRDP and PSO Mindanao are expected to continue the “Listening Tour” to the other PGs including Coffee Proponents Groups from Lanao del Sur and Sulu and Seaweed Production and Marketing from the province of Tawi-Tawi.

Overall, the meeting was deemed productive, and both parties expressed their commitment to work closely to help the PGs on their subprojects. Minister Yacob expresses his gratitude to the PSO Mindanao under the leadership of Director Abel James Monteagudo for continuing support and guidance in implementing projects in the Bangsamoro region.

 “We ensure you that under the leadership of MAFAR, we will give whatever we can in uplifting the lives of Bangsamoro people in the BARMM,” he said.
