RPCO-BARMM conducts PRDP Scale-Up orientation cum PCIP updating for Sulu Province

The Provincial Local Government Unit of Sulu is set to avail PRDP Scale-Up subprojects following the orientation and updating of the Provincial Commodity Investment Plan (PCIP) on May 10-12 at City Inn, Zamboanga City.

MAFAR Provincial Director Engr. Alfie Iribani graces the activity with his warm welcoming remarks and hopes for a strong alliance with the PLGU of Sulu.The Sulu municipalities have been one of the major beneficiaries of the back then Mindanao Rural Development Project (MRDP).

In his message, PPDC Engr. Bertrand Chio representing Sulu Gov. Abdusakur Tan highlights the major commodities of Sulu province namely: Cassava, Coffee, Abaca, Seaweeds and soon to be included commodities of Coconut and Mangosteen.

“I am grateful that this time again the Sulu municipalities and the province were invited with this activity,” said Engr. Chio.

He further stated that the nineteen (19) LGUs of the province had signified interest in availing subprojects under the Scale-Up program focusing on the infra SPs supporting the major/champion commodities of the province.

PRDP Scale-Up subprojects will be funded by the World Bank with European Union Co-financing Grant.

“In partnership with the LGUs, and the private sector s, the project shall provide key infrastructure facilities, technology, and information, to raise incomes, productivity, and competitiveness of the targeted areas,” said Elsie Omandam, Planning Officer of RPCO-BARMM.
