Solar Power Irrigation System unveiled in Cabasaran, Butig, Lanao Del Sur

 

LANAO DEL SUR | March 12, 2021

The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Agrarian Reform and Task Force Bangon Marawi held a groundbreaking ceremony for a 10-Million Solar Power Irrigation System under Bangon Marawi Rehabilitation, Reconstruction and Reconciliation Project Fund of 2020 with a total of 40 hectares of rainfed rice area.

It had been awarded to Greenergy Corporation and will be completed in 120 calendar days after the contractor received notice to proceed.
Highlighted in the activity was the ceremonial shovel with Minister Mohammad S. Yacob Ph.D leading, together with Deputy Minister Ammal D. Solaiman JD, Deputy Chief Minister Aleem Ali Solaiman, TFBM Representative Johary Lumna, Provincial Director Atty. Khalid Ansano, Engr. Abdulhaq B. Gayak were present at the ceremony on Friday, March 12, 2021.

According to Minister Yacob, “Part of the Ministry’s mandate is to bring the government closer to community. This government wants to deliver services and protect farmers and fisherfolks in the Bangsamoro Region. With this project, farmers will be more inspired, and idler lands will be utilized”.

Deputy Minister Solaiman emphasized that “Irrigation system is the most important for this community. We can assist with farm inputs and other agriculture interventions like machineries. But, upon consultation the most they need is water irrigation system. There are many land areas here that will reach 40 hectares that are just waiting to be utilized because they can no longer tilt due to absence of irrigation. If acted upon, it would be a great help for our countrymen in Lanao del Sur”.

MAFAR marked that day to continue to live by the ministry’s mandate. So, for years to come the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Agrarian Reform will continue to serve the needs of their people by providing them quality service, that will benefit the Bangsamoro community and represent the commitment as MAFARating, MAFARamdam, Serbisyong Bangsamoro.
