WORKSHOP ON MARKET DEVELOPMENT OF PRIORITY COMMODITIES HAPPEN IN LANAO DEL SUR
Marawi City- Workshop on the Market Development of the Priority Commodities for 2022-2025 conducted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Agrarian Reform through Agribusiness Assistance and Management Division held at College of Agriculture, MSU-Marawi City on March 23-24, 2021.
The said activity was through the effort of the AMAD headed by Chief Dr. Tong D. Pinguiaman together with the Provincial Director Atty. Khalid Ansano of MAFAR Lanao del Sur with the support of MAFAR Minister Dr. Mohammad S. Yacob.
It aims to target the formulation of some strategies and techniques in linking the Agri and fishery products among farmers and fishers.
According to Pinguiaman, “The purpose of the workshop is to focus on strengthening the knowledge and skills of every official and farmer in the market development.”
The workshop showcased different presentations including the Salient Points of MAFAR Food Security and Nutrition Roadmap, presented by BARMMIARC Center manager Abdulnassef Ulong, Agriculture Situationer by Rice Report officer Engr. Muhaimin Ali, Fisheries Situationer by Senior Aquaculturist Norhainie A. Pendulat, Presentation of ARB Communities and Commodities by Agrarian Reform Sector Representative Nadsries M. Lawi and the Introduction of Farmers and Fisherfolk Enterprise Development Information System (FFEDIS) and Agribusiness Portal by Senior Agriculturist Datu Hamsur Zaid. The PLGU-Lanao del Sur thru Dr. Cecilia Basser also presented their Programs, Activities, and Projects in the said Province on Agriculture Development Programs for 2022-2025.
Moreover, “This workshop is significant because this is part of our campaign in delivering services towards securing food nutrition and sustainability,” Ansano said.
“Nasa atin and privileged para makatulong sa mga nangangailangan, so we must take all the opportunity na meron tayo” Ansano added.
Lastly, MAFAR-LDS Chief of Operation Abdul Gaphar L. Sansarona in his closing statement expresses his thanks to all the officials from the regional office who showed effort for their province.
Other officials were also in attendance in the said activity including MAFAR Deputy Minister Ammal Solaiman, Senior Agriculturist Ramil Timpolok, and Johanisha Dimasangcay. FPHMD staff, AMAD staff, ICTS staff, and other officials from MAFAR.
