Radyo Eskwela launch in the Province of Lanao Del Sur
On the 24th of July, MAFAR Lanao del Sur Provincial Director Atty. Khalid D. Ansano joined as a guest on the first day of the Radyo Eskwela radio broadcast at 99.7 FM DXSO Radyo Pilipinas in Marawi City. This event marked the launch of the School on the Air on Smart Rice Agriculture (SOA-SRA) program. On the same day, there was an orientation and discussion on the mechanics of the School on Air program.
On July 26, the second episode featured a discussion on the Rice Industry situation and the Rice Tariffication Law, with Aliah Hadji Salic, a rice specialist from MAFAR Balindong Lanao del Sur, participating as a resource person.
According to Engr. Alihasan Guro, one of the program’s hosts, says the School-On-Air initiative aims to strengthen the agricultural sector for abundant agriculture and a prosperous economy, utilizing modern technology. With the help of Radyo Eskwela, it will be easier for farmers to access information and updates on modern farming methods.
The program consists of sixteen episodes and can be heard every Monday and Wednesday, from 8:00 am to 9:00 am, on 99.7 FM DXSO Radyo Pilipinas in Marawi City and throughout Lanao del Sur.
The launching marks the beginning of the third year of implementing the School On-the-Air on Smart Rice Agriculture (SOA-SRA) in the Province of Lanao del Sur towards abundant agriculture and a prosperous economy. This is through the collaboration of the Agriculture Training Institute Region 12 (ATI-XII), MAFAR, the Provincial Government of Lanao del Sur, and Radio Pilipinas.
As part of the launching of school on the air Smart Rice Agriculture (SOA-SRA) program, 1,500 transistor radios and training kits were handed out to the enrollees last July 12 during the ceremonial signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for the implementation of the School On-The-Air Smart Rice Agriculture Program between Agriculture Training Institute – Region 12 (ATI XII) Director Abdul Dayaan and MAFAR Lanao del Sur Provincial Director Atty. Khalid D. Ansano, held at MAFAR-LDS Ground, Marawi City.
